It is the means of transportation used to transfer passengers between Terminals 1 and 2 of the AICM. Access to the platform at Terminal 1 is located halfway across the bridge called “Puente de Pilotos” (Pilot’s Bridge) up the escalators in Room “D” and access to the Terminal 2 platform is through Room “M” next to Domestic Departures.
 
 
 
 

Schedule

From 05:00 to 23:00 hours, every day of the year, always starting its first route from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1, and the last route to Terminal 2.
 
 
 
 

Capacity

The AirTrain has 4 rail cars, the capacity is 100 people with hand luggage. Passengers and/or users who bring with them luggage that due to its characteristics is called oversized, for their comfort and that of others, are recommended to use ground transportation.
 
 
 
 

Times

The distance between both terminals is 3 km and the speed at which the AirTrain travels is 45 km/hr, so the travel time once the AirTrain is with the doors properly closed and starts the movement is approximately 4 minutes 40 seconds between both stations. The maximum waiting time is approximately 11 minutes.
 
 
 
 

Who is authorized to ride the AirTrain?

  • Connecting passengers, with electronic reservation code, ticket and/or boarding pass of the Airline they will be traveling on.
  • Technical Crews (Pilots)
  • Cabin Crews (Flight Attendants).
  • Employees of airlines operating in T2, Government Agencies and Service Providers, with prior authorization and who, due to their duties, need to travel between the two terminals.
  • ASA and AICM personnel whose Airport Identification Card indicates T1 and T2.
  • Minors traveling unaccompanied, if they are conducted by Airline personnel and do not require additional attention from the personnel operating the AirTrain.
  • Users with Special Needs will be allowed access to the AirTrain in a wheelchair with a companion, family member or personnel of the different airlines and/or service providers (even if the companion does not have a boarding pass).
  • In these cases, the personnel of the Secretariat of Public Security, Auxiliary Police, in coordination with the personnel operating the AirTrain, shall be authorized to accompany and transfer the guide and the disabled passenger.
  • In the case of transporting dogs, they will only be accepted with their respective cage. In both cases, the trip will be made in an empty car, so as not to inconvenience other passengers.
    Note: No other animals will be allowed.

 
 
 
 

Important

If for any reason you decide not to take the AirTrain or it is not in service at that time, you can use the ground transportation called “Transportation between Terminals”, by means of the buses located at Gate No. 6 of Terminal 1 and Gate No. 4 of Terminal 2.
 
 
 
 

Basic guidelines

  • Always have your boarding pass, electronic reservation code and some official identification at hand, in the case of Crews, they must be uniformed and present their company badge. In case of traveling without uniform, they must present their company badge and some official identification. To provide service to employees of Airlines, Government Agencies, Service Providers, ASA and AICM with their own work at Terminal 2, they must visibly carry their Airport Identification Card (TIA) with the indication T1-T2 and must check it at the readers.
  • Access in an inappropriate state and/or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, etc. is prohibited.
  • It is important to follow the indications given through visual, audio, and personal media regarding the use of the AirTrain.
  • Smoking, food, and beverages are strictly forbidden, both on the platforms and inside the rail cars.
  • Passenger boarding and disembarkation services will not commence until minimum safety conditions are met.
  • In the event of an unscheduled stop or failure of the AirTrain, it will be attended immediately and if necessary, the Train will be evacuated at the nearest Terminal, after prior notice and instructions through the intercom.
  • Freely allow the automatic opening and closing of the doors, as well as not obstructing the operation of the doors with luggage or any other object.
  • Please distribute only at the platform doors, which have electronic message boards at the top.
  • For your comfort and that of the other passengers, try to travel on the AirTrain with hand luggage.
  • Allows passengers to disembark before boarding.
  • If you are about to board and the electronic signs display the legend “Please move away, the doors are closing” and also, in the voice announcements indicate the same; we recommend you not to try to board, since you may get hurt and also, if you obstruct the automatic closing of the doors, you may cause a delay in the departure of the AirTrain.
  • Keep children away from the closing and opening of the doors, also, during the trip and for safety reasons, it is not allowed to travel on the front base of cars 1 and 4 (next to the windshield).
  • It is forbidden to board with luggage carts.
  • It is strictly forbidden to climb with unicycles (used by PFP).
  • It is forbidden to transport ladders, diverse material that due to its characteristics may damage the interior of the cars and/or injure the users of the AirTrain.
  • Any person caught misusing, damaging, or causing the suspension of the service will be consigned to the corresponding authorities and will be liable to a fine or whatever is appropriate according to the damage caused.
